I want to start by saying that the Lord is doing incredible things through Catracho Missions in the Granadilla mountain. Pastor Paul and Tania, our ministry hosts, have shown us what a life of sacrifice for the Lord’s work looks like. Both of them left the good city life they had in Honduras to move up onto a mountain with very little development and electricity, to plant a church and spread the Gospel. They are one of the most effective ministries I have ever seen and it was an absolute honor a privilege to serve their ministry this past month.

One of this biggest projects that was going on this month was the building of the church. This church building provides the opportunity for community and growth on this mountain for people to have a central place to come and hear the Gospel and grow as church and a body of Christ. During our time we spent 3-5 days a week taking trips walking up and down the mountain to carry wood back to the church to continue being built. We also worked on constructing benches, chairs, doors, railings, floors, and beds for teams and people to be able to have a place to sleep in the church. At the church we were also able to host VBS one week where about 100 kids came out and around 30 moms came who we also had the chance to pour into and share the Gospel through our Beauty for Ashes team.

We also got the chance to walk to different houses in the Granadilla community and visit and pray with them to start the ministry of building relationships to then have the opportunity to share the Gospel. Honduran culture is big on trust and building relationships, therefore Catracho Missions is doing what they can to build that trust and love so that they can continue investing in their lives and point them to the true God of the Bible.

Another awesome ministry was getting to cook with the women in the kitchen. Spending time with them brought me so much joy and I can honestly say that they poured into me so much more than I could ever pour into them. They had so much patience with me for every time I messed up a tortilla and the showered me with love through hugs and coffee. I really enjoyed learning Spanish worship songs through them and having small talk just getting to know them better. They sacrificed a whole month of time to make a three meals a day, everyday, and they did it with so much joy and love! These women pointed me to Christ and encouraged me to press on and work hard just by the way they modeled that for us!

This month I made friends that I hope will last a lifetime and worked with a ministry that I trust is making a big impact in the Kingdom of God. I will continue to be praying for and hope that you will be praying for them too for God to continue to transform lives on the mountain of Granadilla, Honduras!

  1. I am in awe of the common theme for all of you, pure joy as you allowed God to be All. Praying for all of you each and very day.

  2. What a gift that mountain turned out to be! God is so proud of you and the rest of K-squad. The ripples from your willingness to serve last month will certainly go on for years and years. Can’t wait to hear more of what you learned from Him.
